Pioneer Elastic

Pioneer Elastic India Pvt Ltd is a joint venture between Brandix Lanka Ltd and Pioneer Elastic Fabric Co Ltd, Hong Kong, one of the largest companies in the manufacture of elastic webbing for the foundation and sports industry. Pioneer India will manufacture narrow fabric (elastics), both woven and knit, to supply the increasing demand within the Indian sub-continent. The company is located at the Brandix India Apparel City (BIAC) in Visakhapatnam.

It is planned to establish a manufacturing facility with an initial capacity of 8mn meters of knit and woven elastic per month, to supply mainly the Sri Lankan and Indian markets.

Phase 1 of the project will established 120,000 sq. ft. of factory space which will become operational initially with 250 employees. Completion of all phases will result in a 200,000 sq. ft. modern facility with state-of-the-art machinery, supported by technical expertise from Pioneer Group's existing factories in China, Thailand and the Philippines.

Construction work has started and is expected to be completed by June 2009, when commercial operations are expected to begin.
